The Birth of Nicky Guggenheim

The story of our hero begins in the early hours of April 25, 1997. After a great ordeal and much panic between his parents they arrived at Singapore General Hospital in the nick of time. Nicholas Robert Guggenheim was born safely and healthfully at 5:05 AM Singaporean Time. Upon his birth he received American citizenship but was denied citizenship in Singapore due to his fathers diplomatic ties. Due to fears of the extremely high population density and its connections with diseases and illnesses, Nicky's family returned to America. They headed back to Charleston, South Carolina, which also served as the home for many of Nicky's other relatives including the former mayor. Nicky was considered by many to be a very attractive baby with soft features, brown eyes, and thick brown hair. As a result he was given much attention by family members and friends alike. Nicky's father soon resigned from his job as a diplomat and took a job in the family's mining company so he could be closer to his family. And so Nicky and his family enjoyed relative peace and harmony for the first few months of his life.
